USC Need Web Developer

Job Description Overview

The USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is looking for an experienced Web Developer III to take the lead in designing, developing, and managing both the front-end and back-end of the division’s websites. This role involves guiding web platform migrations, establishing best practices for design and security, and collaborating with designers, university teams, and junior staff to deliver an excellent user experience and maintain top-notch website performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and management of advanced web-based systems using object-oriented design techniques.
  • Build and manage front-end and back-end website components.
  • Set and share best practices for web design, development, and security within the division.
  • Work with designers and other teams to discuss and introduce new features.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and fix bugs.
  • Oversee project schedules, resources, and staffing.
  • Stay updated on new web development technologies and trends.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field.
  • At least 4 years of web development experience (5 years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, web servers, applications, programming languages, content management systems, and SEO.
  • Experience in front-end and back-end development.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with website security practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing web development projects in academic or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of usability and web performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or others.

Compensation Details:
The annual salary for this role ranges from $102,576.72 to $120,000. USC considers several factors when determining compensation, such as responsibilities, experience, education, skills, legal requirements, and market conditions.
